Church History
New Covenant Church was started in 1993 by the Rev. Scott Burkley,
The New Castle Presbytery issued these two mandates for this new congregation.
* The church should appeal to the "broad middle" of the Presbyterian Church theologically.
* The church must be actively involved in the community. That meant "reaching out to Presbyterians and people without churches, making and growing disciples, holding warm and dynamic worship services, and developing a sound educational program to make disciples of all ages."
A third mandate came from our initial core group, many of whom were new to the Middletown area. Most had moved away from family and friends.
* All wanted us to be a Church Family!
