When New Covenant Church was started in 1993 be the Rev. Scott Burkley, New Castle Presbytery issued three mandates for this new congregation. They wanted a church that would appeal to the "broad middle" of the Presbyterian Church theologically. They wanted us to be actively involved in the community. That meant "reaching out to Presbyterians and people without churchs, making and growing disciples, holding warm and dynamic worship services, and developing a sound educational program to make disciples of all ages." The third mandate came from our initial core group. Most had moved away from family and friends. They wanted us to be a Church Family!
